Common name for an artisanal mezcal facility in Michoacán. Vinata comes from ‘vino mezcal’ (mezcal wine). Don Lupe’s vinata has a spectacular location.

Agave tequilana

The most extensively planted and harvested agave in the world, mainly used for tequila & mezcal production, increasingly also for agave syrup.

Yields ~ 1L of mezcal per 10 kgs of Agave, ~ 6 to 8 years life cycle / maturity.
